The Creators' Compass - Day 2: Finding Clarity in Chaos

I used to think that creativity HAD to be chaotic before I learned my lesson.

Don't make a consistent schedule, create when you feel like it.

Don't make a mood board, let the mood create itself.

Don't use a shot list, figure it out in the moment.

I did this for over 3 years (almost 4).

But then this finally happened.

During a creative sprint, I was editing 2 videos EVERY MORNING.

Then it hit me...

I couldn't keep up.

And even worse, I had lost my sense of direction.

I was just creating to POST. (MAJOR RED FLAG! 🚩 )

Here's what I learned the hard way:

It doesn't matter how fast you're running if it's the wrong direction.

If you don't pay attention, you will get lost in the grind.

Ever since that morning, I've changed my focus.

Focus on focus.

Every action needs to be intentional.

Write to get your dose of daily reflection.

Use shot lists to be intentional with your visuals to tell a story.

Create a content planner to stay consistent and spend more time creating.

I'll leave this with you:

Creativity thrives with structure.

Creativity is a balance of chaos and clarity.

Take note of which way your scale is tipping - adjust accordingly.
